Meet Molly!

Current Mom: Kim Todd

Molly is less than 2 years old and was found in the parking lot of a radio station on a
very busy street in San Jose.  She was discovered last spring along with her 7 very
young kittens.  They were all bone thin, covered in fleas and probably would not have
survived much longer on their own.  All 7 kittens have found wonderful homes and are
doing quite well.

I kept Molly originally to care for her kittens and soon discovered that she was not a true
feral at all.  She never hissed or acted aggressively, even when I was attempting to
remove and hold one of her babies.

She soon let me touch her, and now loves a good head to toe petting and will roll over
happily purring and making bread.  She is definitely still shy, loud noises and strange
surroundings take some getting used to for her. She would not do well in a family with
small children or dogs, and would need to be an inside cat only.  If let outside again, I
am positive that she would bolt immediately and not return.

I cannot tell for certain if she had humans in her past and had been dumped to live on
her own, or if she has just decided she needs our help in order to survive.  She
absolutely adores all other cats, adults and kittens alike.  I have taken in very young
orphan kittens, and she has accepted them, groomed and cuddled with them without
hesitation.  She has put on weight and her fur is finally shiny and soft.  She has unusual
markings, and does not have tabby stripes, but rather Abyssinian type ticking, with a
white chest, belly and feet.  Molly has had it very rough so far and yet still has a sweet
temperament.  I firmly believe she will continue to trust and become even more
affectionate in the right environment.

She needs a quiet home with people who will love her and be patient with her.  She
would be happiest with other cats as companions.

Update: March 11, 2007:
She is one very happy girl these days.  She finally has total full time house privileges
along with everyone else and is doing great.

Please consider giving her a chance at the long and happy life all animals deserve.
